Central Europe : What Cohésion ?, by Ewa Kulesza-Mietkowski and Piotr Mietkowski The Visegrad Group, formed in February 1991, and the Central European Free Trade Agreement signed in December 1992, witness the willingness of the Central European states to work out a new mode of coexistence and cooperation. The aim is to promote a spirit of solidarity between the four nations in the area : Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to coordinate foreign policy and above ail to establish a dialogue betwen the member countries with regard to their relations with the EC.
