This paper deals with the fatigue behaviour of a short fibre reinforced thermoplastic under multi-axial cyclic stress. Based on experimental results on notched and plain specimens, limits of existing methods for the fatigue life estimation in the design process of components exposed to complex multi-axial loads were investigated. During the manufacturing process of short fibre reinforced thermoplastic components, a moderately anisotropic behaviour in stiffness and strength arises.
