Optical properties of Eu3+-doped fluorophosphate glasses

Optical absorption spectra of the Eu3+-doped fluorophosphate glasses 75 NaPO3-24 AF(2)-1 EuF3 (A = Mg, Ca, Ba, Zn), 75 NaPO3-20 CaF2-5 EuF3 and 58 NaPO3-11 BaF2-30 YF3-1 EuF3 have been recorded. The dipole strengths are parametrized in terms of three phenomenological Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters Omega(lambda) (lambda = 2, 4 and 6). With the knowledge of these intensity parameters, the probability for spontaneous emission, the branching ratios and the radiative lifetime are calculated.
