Este artigo se inscreve nos marcos analíticos críticos que trazem à memória o inestimável legado do geógrafo MILTON SANTOS (2013), as críticas ao direito à cidade DE HENRI LEFÉBVRE (2020), DAVID HARVEY (2015), e ainda considerando as contribuições de VERA TELLES (2009), EVELINE TREVISAN (2012), e de ADCHILLE MBEMBE (2016), quanto a importância do conceito de Necropolítica que é salutar ao tema, trazendo também algumas observações acerca da corrente sociológica da Escola de Chicago, como contraponto ao seu ideário sobre o que é cidade. Longe de se esgotar o tema, o artigo objetiva contribuir para narrativas negras a respeito do rebatimento da pandemia causada pelo COVID-19, revisitando o passado e conduzindo-nos para esperançar o futuro, com base na resistência e construção de estratégias de aquilombamento, frente aos inúmeros ataques à democracia e aos direitos sociais, especialmente desde o golpe de 2016. Há que se pensar que a exclusão social, territorial, histórica e econômica não são questões estanques e muito menos alijadas de outros debates, na medida em que a grave questão sanitária iniciada em 2020 guarda inúmeras questões que ensejaram a luta pela vacina, num giro histórico que demarca desde à Revolta da Vacina, à luta pela dignidade e respeito às populações trabalhadoras e periféricas. No que viver nas cidades brasileiras, tendo a pele preta, como ocorre com ambos os autores deste artigo, requisita cada dia mais, reflexões sobre o momento presente, formulando questões em conexão ao passado.
