In the IPS2 planning phase, defined customer and provider needs have to be considered for the realization of product and service shares. In contrast to a traditional product with add-on services, the service shares are an integral part of an IPS2. This paper presents the influence of the IPS2 business model on the development of a micro milling spindle. The IPS2 micro milling spindle is a core component for a milling process. An overview of possible solutions of product and service shares for a micro milling spindle under consideration of the IPS2 business model and suitable development methods are presented
