La investigación se realizó en las instalaciones del ISTENA (Instituto Superior Enrique Noboa Arizaga), y evaluó el impacto de tres métodos de esterilización reproductiva en cuyes (Cavia porcellus) con respecto a la conversión alimenticia. Se asignaron 32 cuyes machos a los tratamientos T0 (control), T1(yodo al 1.3%), T2 (A. láctico al 10%), T3 (corte de espículas), con 8 repeticiones cada uno. Se registró semanalmente el consumo de alimento y la ganancia de peso. Los animales fueron codificados mediante aretes plásticos.
