The objective of the research is to describe the special educational needs in the Ecuadorian educational system, through an analysis of statistical data from the main educational institutions. The methodology of the study is quantitative, it is a descriptive, non-experimental research of a longitudinal nature, for the research aggregated empirical data from the databases of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses and the Ministry of Education of Ecuador were used, on the survey of the educational system at the national level; each database was segmented according to the most relevant types of disabilities present in the students.
