Educación inclusiva y los tipos de necesidades educativas especiales: caso Ecuador

The objective of the research is to describe the special educational needs in the Ecuadorian educational system, through an analysis of statistical data from the main educational institutions. The methodology of the study is quantitative, it is a descriptive, non-experimental research of a longitudinal nature, for the research aggregated empirical data from the databases of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses and the Ministry of Education of Ecuador were used, on the survey of the educational system at the national level; each database was segmented according to the most relevant types of disabilities present in the students. Regarding the temporary observation unit (2011 to 2022). The results allow us to infer that there is a growing trend from 2011 to 2022 in the dimensions: intellectual disabilities with 17.85%; motor disabilities 5.93%; and autism 3.21%. In the remaining dimensions a decrease is observed, with Down syndrome being more relevant with 3.53% and auditory with 3.49%. It is concluded that the programs and policies are fundamental to be able to develop an inclusive education that allow to guarantee the attention and the adequate support to the students with SEN.El objetivo de la investigación es describir las necesidades educativas especiales en el sistema educativo ecuatoriano, por medio de un análisis de datos estadísticos de las principales instituciones educativas. La metodología del estudio es cuantitativa, es una investigación descriptiva, no experimental de carácter longitudinal, para la investigación se utilizaron datos empíricos agregados de las bases de datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos y del Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador, sobre la encuesta del sistema educativo a nivel nacional; cada base de datos fue segmentada según los tipos de discapacidades más relevantes presentes en los estudiantes. Respecto a la unidad de observación temporal (2011 a 2022). Los resultados permiten inferir que existe una tendencia creciente desde el año 2011 al 2022 en las dimensiones: discapacidades intelectuales con el 17,85%; las discapacidades motrices un 5,93%; y autismo 3,21%. En las dimensiones restantes se observa una disminución, siendo más relevante el Síndrome de Down con el 3,53% y auditiva con el 3,49%. Se concluye que los programas y políticas son fundamentales para poder desarrollar una educación inclusiva que permitan garantizar la atención y el apoyo adecuado a los estudiantes con NEE
