This article will address issues related to education, curriculum, curricular models, current educational trends and active methodologies among others, making a tour and a critical-constructive analysis from the findings in the scientific literature and the actual reality in Colombian educational institutions. Finally, the educational situation in Colombia will be analyzed, making a contrast from the approaches and thesis of different authors, to focus on a very detailed analysis of the current state of education in the country, based on their own experiences and the results of some census tests to generate a series of conclusions and recommendations that lead to continuous improvement and that can serve as a reference for other teach...
