One of the major issues concerning photovoltaic integration is its impact on distribution grids, esp. voltage rise. To reduce costs of grid reinforcement, voltage at the connection point of the photovoltaic inverters can be regulated within technical limitations by active and reactive power control of photovoltaic inverters. This paper introduces different methods concerning output control of photovoltaic systems. These methods are implemented in a rural low voltage grid and then studied by grid simulation. The results are evaluated with regard to increasing the hosting capacity and reactive power requirements
