This document describes the german philosophy for airtightness requirements which is presented at the AIVC-Tightvent workshop in Brussels, Belgium in March 2012. It refers to the German energy ordinance and the different standards that deal with airtightness and ventilation concepts in buildings. The requirements for different building types are compared and the necessary preparations for airtightness requirements are given
