Automated production processes require reliable monitoring systems so that timely intervention ist possible if things go wrong. However, adapting model-based monitoring systems to a specific production process is only viable for processese with large batch sizes. A new approach to monitoring systems is described that reduces the initial adaptation to a minimum, so that it is suitable even for small batch production processes
