The research presented in this thesis provides an investigation into the thermodynamic and heat transfer requirements for a, 3 ton, Water / Lithium-Bromide absorption system. Thermodynamics results for one stage and two stages absorption system are presented. Heat transfer principles provided a design guideline. Flat-plate, solar, water heaters and auxiliary devices using natural gas were analyzed as the main sources for energy inputs into the generator. Experimental data from the solar collector is provided under several configurations. A TRNSYS simulation of the overall absorption, cooling systems and its alternative energy means provided different scenarios where heating loads into the generator could be reached and consequently provided...
