In an STM task, recall of various sets of four words was tested by giving cues. The cue was either a word 1) Belonging to the same semantic category than one of the four words ; or 2) Belonging to the same phonetic category ; 3) Belonging to both semantic and phonetic categories (that is, at the intersection of both classes). Compared to a control condition in which recall was not cued, each type of cue word elicited the word of the same category. « Intersecting » words elicited words of the original four-words set with belonged to both classes.
