During the transcription of complex figures, the visual activity can be described as a backward and forward motion between model and copy, and characterized by the respective parts of time devoted to model exploration and to transcription control, as so as by the frequency of this motion. This study examines the relation between this temporal patterning of visual activity with the adequacy of the transcription in children from 5 to 10 years of age.
