In this work the authors investigated the influence of the crystallographic grain orientation on the anodic oxide formation on TiAlV6-4. For this purpose chosen grains of polycrystalline TiAlV6-4 with outmost different orientations were examined by electrochemical micro-capillary technique. The TiAlV6-4 samples are mechanically polished and oxide formation is carried out by cyclovoltammetry in an acetate buffer solution (pH 5.9). It could be shown that the oxide formation as well as the occurrence of side reactions strongly depends on the crystallographic orientation.
