Summary The EEG study of 30 adults or adolescents of low intellectual level, but without any clinical sign of cerebral organic attaint, bore on three elements : the alpha index ; the frequency scatter index ; spatial organization of the rhythms and their amplitude. By grouping these three elements, 2 types of records can be distinguished : Type A : high alpha index; low frequency scatter around a central value ; good spatial organization. Type B : alpha index under 50 % on the posterior regions; high frequency scatter in the direction of the rapid frequencies ; anarchical spatial spectrum.
