Expression of motivation of members of the Greco-Roman wrestling junior team

Problem of research - what is the expression of motivation of members of the Greco-Roman wrestling junior team in the context of personal experience? The aim of the work is to reveal the expression of the sport motivation of the members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team from the aspect of personal experience. Objectives of work: 1) to evaluate experience of external motivation of members of the Greco- Roman wrestling junior team; 2) to evaluate experience of internal motivation of members of the Greco-Roman wrestling junior team. Research methods: semi-structured interview; content analysis. Results: Internal factors of sports motivation are more expressed than external factors among the members of the Greco-Roman wrestling junior team. Factors of intrinsic motivation that are important for all researched sportsmen are intrinsic causes to take sport, feelings related to victory, intrinsic signals of improvement; internal incentives to quit sports. External signals indicating that the athlete is improving are important for all respondents, as well as the positive attitude of nearest environment towards their sports. Conclusions: 1. The sport motivation of the members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team is determined internal factors stronger that than by external ones. Factors of intrinsic motivation important to all respondents are: intrinsic reasons for sports, feelings related to success, internal signals are important to decide about the personal improvement; internal incentives to quit sports are important for all respondents. Sports evoke positive feelings. 2. The sport motivation of the members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team is also influenced by external factors. External signals indicating that the athlete is improving and positive attitude of others to their sports activity are important for all respondents. For most respondents these external motivation factors are important: external reasons to do sport, positive feelings related to achievement, outward feelings are important; in the case of quitting sport the support form close people is expected, however external factors are weak incentives to quit sport
