Phobias As One

Phobias as One is a project that focuses on creating a sculptural interpretation of people based on the phobias they have. This is a series of busts that have been created as 3D models in my own style to portray a person fused with the phobia they have. The phobias we have concentrated within ourselves create the people we are and how we view ourselves in our everyday lives. A lot of the time the phrase “seeing is believing” is constantly used for mundane things, but never more than to deny what you do not want to believe is truth. Having a phobia is a strong or irrational fear not many are comfortable speaking about due to phobias being irrational by nature. Having a physical representation that speaks to how they feel towards these fears is the main purpose of this project. Visuals that can speak for the people who do not have the ability to speak of the things they fear. I truly believe that giving voice to people who are uncomfortable making these statements will create a more understanding environment that is inclusive to more individuals
