Michael Samland. Measuring "Just Taxation" of Real Estate : A Quantitative Approach to the Revolutionary Ideal and its Realization (1789-1834). The reform of the land tax. initiated in 1789. Has been studied essentially on the base of descriptive sources. While we know well the ideas dominating governement politics and legislation that lead to a more accurate distribution of the tax burden. We largely ignore the actual result of the reform.
