L'exploitation des sources narratives médiévales dans l'histoire du climat : à propos d'un ouvrage récent

Exploiting narratives medieval sources for climate history: some remarks about a recent work P.Alexandre in his work, Climate in Europe in the Middle Ages. Contribution to history of climatic variations from 1000 to 1525, from narrative sources of occidental Europe, gives to the historians the possibility to use thousands of meteorologic observations preserved by medieval chroniclers and annalists. If one looks more closely to the statistical exploration of his data made by the author himself, it is possible to ask some questions about the reliability of data from medieval narratives sources and about the likelihood of the long term climatic phenomena which are thus revealed.Ezio Ornato.
