The population of peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients is characterized by a low level of physical activity. A significant decrease in fitness level compared to their peers leads to impaired functioning in everyday life and is associated with worse survival. This study aimed to characterize the physical activity of PD patients, develop recommendations for physical activity considering catheter safety and filling of the peritoneal cavity, as well as to indicate methods of PD patient evaluation and benefits of regular physical activity.
