Nutzungskonstellationen und Schlüsselfaktoren für das Lernen mit Mobile Apps aus der Sicht von lernenden Erwachsenen

The subject matter of this paper is mobile learning. On the basis of the theory of learning for the mobile ages, the use of mobile apps in learning efforts of adults is examined. Data about the circumstances and conditions of learning by the use of mobile apps were collected by one-to-one interviews. Results of this part of the study are presented in case-based constellations of use. Another aim of the study was to collect data about the reasons for making use of mobile apps in learning procedures. Here, the data material from open interviews was categorized to identify key factors for the use of mobile apps. The two main key factors where identified as free time and mobility. These turned out to relate to the type of learning undertaken by the learners. Based on the findings of the survey, discussions about instructional potentials of mobile apps are presented in the paper and five assumptions are merged into a framework that relates mobile apps with specifically structured contents to certain types of learning
