The technology of Laser- Remote- Processing of thermoplastic material is in the center of the point. The developed process combines rapid movement of a laser beam as well as rapid measurement of temperatures and controlling laser power. Therefore a novel kind of textile processing has been developed in order to combine laser and textile system technology. Within the paper the remote laser technology will be introduced to affect the material properties like shrinkage and crimping reproducible. The investigations were carried out on different types of monofilament. The influence of laser irradiation on properties of thermoplastic monofilaments will be compared to properties which are achieved by state-of-the-art heat setting processes
