The Historical Museum of the City of Krakow (Museum of Krakow) undertook the responsible role of care for the Krakow nativity scene and its promotion in the country and in the world. Thanks to the museum’s activities protecting, documenting and popularizing the phenomenon of the nativity scenes, the tradition was entered on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014 and in 2018, as the first of Polish item, it was placed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
