In autumn 2010 the first German offshore wind farm. "Alpha Ventus", has been put into operation. Due to the lack of experience in this industry. there is a significant potential for improvement within the logistics supply chain. Offshore terminals are the interface between land and water-based transport processes and therefore of particular importance. Each component of an offshore wind turbine has to pass a port. Areas in ports are scarce and may not be extended without limits. Hence ports can become a bottleneck in the supply chain. The objective of this work is to determine relevant criteria for an efficient use of space and equipment of an offshore terminal by simulation of terminal processes
