This shorter discussion piece examines the ways in which sexuality is theorised withinsocial work. The author briefly analyses a dominant version of sexuality theory found inanti-discriminatory practice, before going on to suggest an alternative approach basedupon an analysis of how ‘sexuality’ itself is produced and put to use within social workdiscourse. The author proposes that desire might be used as a way to question limitingconceptions of sexuality, and to highlight and challenge heteronormative practices withinsocial work
