The aim of this investigation was todetermine the differences in peak power, peak vertical groundreaction forces, and rate of force development (RFD) duringvariations of the power clean. Elite rugby league players (n =16; age 22 6 1.58 years; height 182.25 6 2.81 cm; body mass98.65 6 7.52 kg) performed 1 set of 3 repetitions of the powerclean, hang power clean, midthigh power clean, or midthighclean pull, using 60% of 1 repetition maximum power clean, in arandomized order, while standing on a force platform. One-wayanalysis of variance with Bonferroni post hoc analysis revealeda significantly (p,0.001) greater peak power output during themidthigh power clean (3,565.7 6 410.6 W) and the midthighclean pull (3,686.8 6 386.5 W) compared with bo...
