How are special effects utilised to convey movement through time in film?

This dissertation will explain how films utilise technological development tocreate special effects that portray the past, present and future and how timetravel is conveyed to the audience.Several of the films to be discussed will show how the changes from oldtechnology to the use of new special effects have affected the audience andthat, as more advances are made, the audience then expects more.
