Intersubjectivity describes the awareness of self and other's intentions and feelings in the dynamic sharing of minds acting in companionship, exchanging self-conscious intentions and emotional evaluations. Since 1960, when studies of infants disproved the theory of the young mind as a sensory- motor computer that is 'conditioned' to learn facts symbolized in language, psychology now highlights the natural science of infant awareness, intelligence, intentions, and emotions and their sharing in embodied, non-verbal participation with others.
