The invention relates to a device and a method for controlling actuators of a system which has the actuators and sensors. The device comprises an interpreter for interpreting an analysis result from an analysis of sensor signals of the sensors. A plurality of different interpretation hypotheses which constitute different meanings of the analysis result can be obtained from the analysis result. A behavior controller is designed to supply a reaction to the plurality of different interpretation hypotheses.
