Microchannel reactors and heat exchangers have been developed by application of a novel laser welding technique, which generates durable sealing of the reactors for operating temperatures up to 1000 °C. A microreactor for exhaust gas cleaning purposes has been operated for 35 000 h in a laboratory environment.
