While optimizing tolerances in tolerance chains usually single objectives of single process steps are considered but there is no information exchange across all processes. Interdependencies of process materials means of production and individuals acting in this environment or their effects on the product are usually not completely considered. The holistic consideration of the process chain with focus on the allocation of tolerances allows detection of these interdependencies. Process chain information is traced back to conduct optimizations at the right place in the process chain. Intelligent controlling mechanisms are needed to analyze and optimize even complex production systems with multi-level-interdependencies
