Modeling and Assessing Quality in Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing (CC) is an emergent computing paradigm being adopted by enterprices to obtain scalability, flexibility and low cost investment thanks to the 'pay-as-you-go and 'consuming-on-demand' scheme. However, many enterprices are still afraid to adopt such technologie due to risks and negative impact on business goals in case of low quality of services (QoS). Hence, controling and monitoring QoS become very important tasks in order to increase business confidence. In this thesis, the relevance of quality attributes that must be assessed in a Cloud Computing environment is analyzed. Furthermore, it is investigated whether there exist quality models proposed in literature to measure quality of Cloud services as well as whether traditional quality models could be used to this case. We made a systematic literature review (SLR) to find information from literature and a survey with small and medium sized enterprises in Germany (SME) to get their opinions about this concern. Finally, a ranking with relevances for quality aspects and a sinthesys of existing models and methods in literature to assess quality attributes in Cloud Computing is presented
