Manuscript 1: We investigate the global character of the solutions of the rational system in the title, with nonnegative parameters and nonnegative initial terms such that the denominators are always positive. We also pose several open problems related to systems of rational difference equations. Manuscript 2: In this paper, we analyze the global character of the solutions of an anticompetitive system of rational difference equations. We prove that the solutions of the system can have three different types of global behavior, corresponding to different regions of the parameter space.
