Objectives. To examine the additive effect of resistance training (RT) to diet education (DE) on emerging coronary heart disease (CHD) risk factors, apolipoprotein B (apoB) and AI (apoAI) concentrations, and Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Diet Index scores in overweight and obese older adults. Design. This is an ancillary study of a randomized clinical trial. Participants and setting. A total of 27 overweight or obese subjects, 11 men and 16 women, mean age 66.6±4.3 years.
