Electrodeposition of Al-Ti based materials is an attractive process offering many advantages over more conventional processing methods. A number of articles on aluminium-titanium intermetallics electrodeposited from electrolyte made of 2AlCb+NaCl or from ionic liquid (IL) AlCb- 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride have been reported. We are reporting on Al-Ti electrodeposition from equimolar chloroaluminate molten salt containing up to 0.97 at.% Ti ions added into the electrolyte by potentiostatic dissolution of a titanium plate at 200°C.
