There is widespread recognition of the benefits gained when students play an active role in shaping their learning experiences. Peer and near-peer led teaching schemes are a fantastic way to engage students in communities of practice related to both learning and teaching - as Carol Dweck says, “Teaching is a wonderful way to learn.” Skills-based learning in particular can lend itself to this sort of model.
