BACKGROUND: Portopulmonary hypertension (PPH) is a severe complication of liver cirrhosis, which poses a high risk for postliver transplantation (LT) mortality. In most liver transplant centers, severe PPH is viewed as an absolute contraindication for LT, but recent reports challenge this.
