BackgroundContinued high incidence of HIV and other STIs, paired with rising antibiotic resistance to a number of existing treatments, warrants the development of new pharmaceutical approaches for STI prevention. Multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) offer an innovative approach for expanding HIV/STI prevention.
