Several international actors energetically condemned Israel’s actions. The Union issued tepid statements in response to the crisis, ignoring the violence perpetrated by Israeli authorities. This article suggests that the EU’s silence does not sit well with its alleged ‘values’ but is consistent with the positions of the Member States and its established policy
