International audienceIn vineyard management, the monitoring of vine water status is of great importance, because this variable influences harvest quality, yield and, in the longer term, vineyard sustainability. Numerous tools and methods have been proposed to monitor vine water status, but they often involve the use of costly and complex equipment and can be logistically demanding. Methods based on the observation of vine shoot growth are interesting potential alternatives, because they are simple to carry out and therefore potentially better adapted for use in production vineyards.
