International audienceThis article addresses one again the history of the Jews in Provence at the time of the Black Plague after the seminal study of Joseph Shatzmiller, published in 1974 on the same topic. It adds new documents, particularly the record of the restitution of precious objects stolen during the sacking of the Jews’ houses of La Baume les Sisteron and many deeds throwing light on the personality of Dayas Quinoni, the man who wrote the account of the slaughter of the Jews of La Baume on a piece of parchment kept in the National Library of Wien.
