Multi-metal additive manufacturing by laser projection offers new opportunities for the creation of high performance components combining metals with different properties. However, several obstacles limit the freedom of manufacturing, such as the existence of incompatibilities between certain metal pairs, like the formation of brittle intermetallic phases or the overheating of less refractory metals. The control of the process is moreover made complex in view of the numerous phenomena involved and the variations of the composition during the manufacturing process.
