The operating principle of adsorption storage is to store the excess of solar energy available in summer by drying an adsorbent (endothermic phenomenon). The energy is then released during winter by adsorbing water from humid air into the adsorbent (exothermic phenomenon). Such a system can then be integrated into air handling units to preheat the fresh and cold air that, once injected inside the building, can heat it up and renew the internal air. The present study focuses on the possible interactions between the air pollutants and a commonly used adsorbent, zeolite.
