International audienceThe Drugeon basin is a vast wetland (6520 hectares) in a mid-mountain region known for its biodiversity. The breeding bird population was studied using three approaches: 1) changes in species richness since 1980, 2) changes in the numbers of 47 rare or infrequent species, mainly since 1994, 3) changes in the numbers of common species through 102 punctual indices of abundance (IPA) since 2006.Between 140 and 148 bird species have bred since 1980, i.e. 69.3 to 73.3% of the breeding avifauna of Franche-Comté. 104 of them (70.3%) have bred during the whole study period.
