Children born into a family are a gift from The One Almighty God. Every child has the right to live and receive equal treatment by their family. The Convention of the Right of Children guarantees that every child must be treated equally disregarding their status, race, colour, religion, and more. However, in Indonesia, the rights of an illegitimate child have a huge discrepancy comparing to a legitimate child. Following the legal provision in Indonesia, an illegitimate child only receives one-third of their original share.
