Advancing the educational mission of international education: a provincial government case study

There is a growing interest in international education and it is identified as one of the significant trends in post-secondary education. While there are a variety of rationales for engagement in international education, there appears to be a growing focus on international education in terms of its economic potential in developing a prosperous society. In response, there are a number of voices calling for a greater focus on the educational experience of students and the creation of learning environment that encourages a more informed, engaged and compassionate citizen of the world. Governments can and do play an important role in supporting and strengthening international education.
