This work presents a novel and flexible PPA (Partial Pre-Aggregation) construction and query processing technique in OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) applications - SplitCube, which greatly reduces the cube size, shortens the cube building time and maintains an acceptable query performance at the time. Furthermore, we devise two enhanced query processing techniques. They can further improve the query performance or reduce cube building time further and keep query response time at an acceptable level. The result analysis shows more insights in cube construction and query processing procedure and illustrates the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm.
