Selecting compatible partners for business collaboration can be a difficult and time consuming task. Identifying the criteria for partner selection is thus important to organisations that are considering business collaborations or to form a collaborative network (CN). Determining the right set of criteria for partner selection involves careful consideration of both intangible and tangible factors. Partner-related criteria or intangible factors such as trust, reputation and management ability have long-term effects on collaborations. Compared to task-related criteria or tangible factors, intangible factors are not easily determined as they involve subjective judgment.
