Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Dimensionen und Eigenschaften von Sozialkapital in ländlichen Basisorganisationen Haitis anhand der Rekonstruktion der Organisationswirklichkeit durch ihre Mitglieder. Sozialkapital wird als ein Vorrat an Mitteln zur Optimierung sozialen Handelns verstanden und für die Analyse kollektiver Handlung in ländlichen Basisorganisationen Haitis herangezogen. Die empirische Grundlage bilden Gruppendiskussionen, die zwischen 1999-2000 im Rahmen einer qualitativen Sozialforschung im ländlichen Haiti durchgeführt wurden.
